Jack White has described the Dead Weather as a project built to showcase front woman Alison Mosshart, the Kills vocalist whose prowling, growling presence is as unmistakable on record as it is onstage. But there's no downplaying the larger-than-life musical aura of White himself, and his drums-guitars-vocals work remains the top attraction for many Dead Weather aficionados.

Paradise Waits gets rare two-night stand
The area club standard of having three, four and even five bands on a nights lineup has been established for at least two decades, but I was reminded a short time ago (while sifting through some old rockyroll flotsam and jetsam in my archives) of a bygone phenomena -- bands that would not only perform for an entire night, but string together two or three nights at the same club over a weekend.
